WRHS Class of 1956 Reunion #53 - a "mini" reunion

A Day in the Country at the Fox Ridge Preserve

For something different from reunions in hotels, conference centers and schools, your committee has taken a bold step for reunion #53 for the Class of 1956.

On Saturday, September 12, 2009 we will be the guest of classmate Jack Barnes at his ranch, Fox Ridge Preserve, nestled between Stone Bluff, Coweta and Haskell. From 71st and Memorial it’s about 24 miles and 30 minutes to Fox Ridge. He has 160 acres of shaded woods, rolling hills, two lakes, hiking and four-wheel trails for our walking, hiking, pontoon boating, fishing and four wheeling pleasure. (Please leave your four-wheeler at home. Jack has one!) We can also pitch horseshoes, roll bocce balls on level ground, talk, sing, reminisce and eat.

Jack has a shelter, a place for a bonfire, a Loch Ness monster bench, a few permanent picnic tables and benches, but please bring your own lawn chairs and a table if you wish. With a window of 10 a.m. to dark, there’s a time convenient to just about everybody. We can make this reunion laid back and one to remember.

WRHS tours - In January 2009 free open house and public tours began on the Second Monday of each school month. Community response has been terrific to see the art deco, the Will Rogers pictures and walk the halls again. Most of the attendees are first timers in the building. Current students have served as docents. Second Monday tours will be held September thru December. They begin at 6:30 p.m. and are over about 8 p.m.

If interested in a special tour Friday night, September 11, 2009 please so indicate on the 2009 Mini-reunion Form [click] .
